Prestonwood Rotary Club had much to celebrate at the recent Rotary District 5810 Emerald City Awards Celebration, receiving recognition for both our club’s generosity and the outstanding contributions of one of our members.

Prestonwood Rotary Club was honored as the Club With the Most Per Capita Rotary Foundation Giving for the 2025–26 Rotary year. This recognition reflects the extraordinary generosity and commitment of our members to The Rotary Foundation and its mission to create lasting change in communities around the world.

The celebration also recognized Lee McFarland, who received the STAR Award representing Prestonwood Rotary Club. Lee’s recognition reflects the spirit of service, leadership, and dedication that makes our club strong.

Congratulations to Lee and the entire Prestonwood Rotary family! These honors are a wonderful reflection of what can be accomplished when our members come together in the spirit of Service Above Self.

District Governor Mike Visits PRC

Prestonwood Rotary Club was honored to welcome District Governor Mike as our guest speaker on August 12, 2026.

His visit was a great opportunity to connect with Rotary leadership, hear his vision for the year ahead, and reflect on the important role our club plays in strengthening our community through service. We appreciate Governor Mike spending time with PRC and sharing his enthusiasm for Rotary and Service Above Self.

Prestonwood Rotary Club is proud to make a $500 donation to The Senior Source, supporting Jill’s spouse program and its work in our community.

💙 PRC Grants $6,000 to the ROC in Garland

Prestonwood Rotary Club is proud to provide a $6,000 grant to the ROC in Garland to help replenish supplies for its after-school programs serving underprivileged children.

The programs suffered losses following recent storm damage, making this support especially timely. The grant will help the ROC replace essential supplies and continue providing a safe and supportive environment for children in the community.

Prestonwood Rotary in Action: Over 4,000 Meals Packed! 🌎💙

Service in action! 21 members and friends of Prestonwood Rotary came together to support Feed My Starving Children, working side by side to pack more than 4,000 meals.

It was a wonderful example of what Rotary is all about—fellowship, teamwork, and making a meaningful difference through service.

A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped turn a few hours of volunteering into thousands of meals and a lasting impact.

The Rotary Club of Prestonwood proudly congratulates Mike Callahan on his installation as District Governor of Rotary District 5810 for the 2026–2027 Rotary year.

The installation ceremony was a memorable celebration of leadership, service, and Rotary fellowship as Mike officially accepted the responsibility of leading District 5810 into a new year of impact. Surrounded by Rotarians from across the district, the event reflected the excitement and optimism for the year ahead. Mike and his officers were officially installed by PDG Demetress Harrell, whose leadership and dedication to Rotary made the occasion especially meaningful.

The Rotary Club of Prestonwood was massively represented at the ceremony, with several members in attendance to celebrate and support their fellow Rotarian as he begins this important leadership role. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces sharing in this special milestone and demonstrating the fellowship that makes Rotary so unique.

The evening also featured an inspiring message from Dr. Clinton, who reminded everyone that staying on track is what matters. His words reinforced the importance of remaining focused on Rotary’s mission and values, encouraging every member to continue serving with purpose, consistency, and dedication as we work together toward growing our footprint and making a lasting impact.

A Remarkable Rotary Conversation on the Legacy of Texas Monthly

At our most recent Rotary meeting, we had the distinct privilege of welcoming two extraordinary figures behind one of Texas’ most influential publications — Michael Levy, founder of Texas Monthly, and Prudence Mackintosh, a foundational writer and longtime contributing editor whose work helped shape the magazine from its inception in 1973 and continued to grace its pages for five decades.

Michael and Prudence shared a fascinating look into the origins of Texas Monthly, reflecting on the vision, creativity, and perseverance that transformed a bold publishing idea into an iconic Texas institution. Through personal stories and behind-the-scenes insights, they discussed the magazine’s evolution over the decades, its impact on Texas culture, and the commitment to storytelling that has defined its enduring success.

Their presentation offered a rare and inspiring perspective on leadership, journalism, entrepreneurship, and the power of authentic storytelling in capturing the spirit of Texas. We are grateful to Michael Levy and Prudence Mackintosh for sharing their experiences and for giving our Rotary members an unforgettable glimpse into the remarkable journey of Texas Monthly.

The PRC PTAA Interact Club proudly celebrated the unveiling of the new PTAA school sign, a project made possible through funds raised by our dedicated members. This milestone reflects their commitment to service and school pride, creating a lasting symbol for the PTAA community.

Following the unveiling, Interact and Prestonwood Rotary members continued their day of service by packing 100 “Bye-Bye Bags” for VOGAL, helping provide comfort and essential items to those in need.

This was a meaningful day that showcased the heart of Rotary—leadership, service, and making a difference both within our school and throughout the community.
