The mission of the School for the Talented and Gifted is to provide an environment in which the unique worth, dignity, and abilities of each individual are not only recognized but cultivated and celebrated as well. TAG graduates are accepted to and attend the most prestigious colleges and universities in the country, such as Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Columbia, NYU, Caltech, MIT, Cal-Be

rkeley, Vassar, Amherst, Oberlin, Middlebury, Univ. Military Academies. All students follow the Distinguished Achievement Program as outlined by the State of Texas and the Texas Education Agency. The TAG curriculum includes interdisciplinary activities such as TREK and TAG-IT, that reflect the principles of gifted education as outlined by the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students and national standards for gifted education. Students also follow an extensive Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum that includes a minimum of eleven required AP courses. In addition, TAG offers many opportunities for academic, civic, and personal enrichment through its wide variety of honor societies, academic competitions, clubs, and organizations. TAG is a public magnet school and does not charge tuition. As a public school, however, it serves families that reside (and can provide proof of residence) within the Dallas ISD boundaries.

PTA Reflections in Art!
This year’s theme to reflect upon is “I BELONG.” This program is created by PTA to inspire, encourage and motivate creative students to ponder a theme and convey their thoughts through any of the following artistic expressions:
• Literature
• Photography
• Film Production
• Visual Arts
• Music Composition
• Dance Choreography

There are no entry fees to students with parents registered with the PTA and you may submit one entry to as many categories as you would like. The deadline to submit entries for TAG is November 17, 2025, either to TAG Office or electronically to [email protected].

Our Story

TAG graduates are accepted to and attend the most prestigious colleges and universities in the country, such as Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Columbia, NYU, Caltech, MIT, Cal-Berkeley, Vassar, Amherst, Oberlin, Middlebury, Univ. of Chicago, Swarthmore, Rice, Bard, Reed, Morehouse, Emory, Howard, the Honors Programs at UT-Austin, Texas A&M, Washington University-St. Louis, and the U.S. Military Academies. All students follow the Distinguished Achievement Program as outlined by the State of Texas and the Texas Education Agency. In 2011, ALL graduates were recognized as DAP Texas Scholars. The TAG curriculum includes interdisciplinary activities such as TREK, TAG-IT, TAG Forum, and grade-level seminars that reflect the principles of gifted education as outlined by the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students and national standards for gifted education. Students also follow an extensive Pre-AP and Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum that includes a minimum of eleven required AP courses. In addition, TAG offers many opportunities for academic, civic, and personal enrichment through its wide variety of honor societies, academic competitions, clubs, and organizations.
