City of Allen City Hall

City of Allen City Hall Official account of the City of Allen. We're not a small town anymore with over 100K residents, but we aren't overgrown either.

From humble beginnings around a water station dam along the Houston and Texas Central Railroad line, Allen has developed into a dynamic and diverse community. We've stayed connected to our roots, prepared for the future and built a city that is downright delightful. And it shows – MONEY's "Best Places to Live 2017" has Allen tops in Texas and #2 in the nation. Family Circle, D Magazine, WalletHub,

SafeWise, and Forbes have all given Allen praise and high rankings for livability, safety and economics. We created this page to share our continuing story with you. Together we make Allen more than just a place to live - we make it our home. Social Media Policy: https://bit.ly/4kh2ozl

Last week: "Will the rain ever stop?" 🌧️

This week: "Do I need to water my lawn already?" β˜€οΈ

North Texas weather keeps us on our toes.

After last week's soaking rains, many lawns received plenty of moisture. As temperatures rise and conditions turn hot and dry, now is a good time to check your yard before automatically turning up the sprinklers.

βœ… A few summer reminders: water early in the morning, look for signs of stress before adding extra water, and remember that shorter watering cycles with breaks in between can help reduce runoff and get water deeper into the soil.

In our clay soils, watering smarterβ€”not longerβ€”helps build stronger roots and a more resilient lawn.

Your grass may still be living off last week's rainfall, so take a look before you water. A little patience can save water and keep your lawn healthy all summer long.

πŸŽ“πŸ–οΈ A beach ball, proud graduates, and a whole lot of Allen spirit!

We're taking a look back at Allen High School's 1992 commencement ceremony at the University of North Texas Coliseum in Denton. While waiting for the ceremony to begin, graduates kept the celebration going by batting around a beach ball, proving that some traditions of fun and friendship never go out of style.

This throwback is part of our yearlong celebration of Allen's 150th anniversary of being platted. As we honor our past, we also celebrate the generations of Eagles who have helped shape our community.

Congratulations to Allen graduates of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. No matter where life takes you, you'll always have a place to call home. β€οΈπŸ¦…

πŸŽ“ Graduation season is one of our favorite traditions in Allen!

Every year, thousands of graduates, family members, and friends make their way to the Credit Union of Texas Event Center to celebrate one of life's biggest milestones. What started as a graduation venue has grown into an annual tradition that welcomes students from across North Texas to our community.

In May, more than 45,000 guests walked through the doors for ceremonies honoring graduates from Collin College, Wylie ISD, Farmersville ISD, Princeton ISD, McKinney ISD, Lovejoy ISD, and John Paul II High School.

Why Allen? The Credit Union of Texas Event Center offers the space, accessibility, technology, and parking needed to host celebrations on a grand scale. From massive video boards and arena-quality production to comfortable seating for family and friends, it's designed to make these milestone moments unforgettable.

And when the ceremony ends, graduates and their loved ones are right in the heart of Allen's restaurants, shopping, and entertainment districts, making it easy to turn graduation day into a full weekend of celebration.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! We're honored to be part of your special day and proud to welcome so many families to Allen each year. πŸŽ‰

πŸ“Έ We'd love to celebrate with you! Tag the City of Allen in your graduation photos and use for a chance to be featured on our social media channels.
