Today's event was very successful and uneventful. There were a couple ladies in official uniforms of some sort that approached us in a golf cart, but all they said was that we needed to move to Ervay Street. 🤩 I think the City is calming down now that the World Cup is over and out of the downtown area.

7/4/2026 - we ended up postponing our giving event from the end of June to today as it appears so many people have been out giving on Sundays. City of Dallas code enforcement has been giving citations so we had to approach things differently to avoid issues. We got stopped and we chatted with a couple people and they gave us their latest interpretation of the codes but we didn't get a citation. I guess we can't distribute care packages from anything that touches the ground (tables, vehicles, wagons) or anything that draws crowds. So we figured it out and kept it moving.

7/4/2026 - our June giving event was moved to today to avoid any issues as so many people have been out there giving on Sundays. It was a success! Code enforcement stopped by and gave us some tips and we regrouped and we finished our giving.

Today was another reminder of why we do this.

Despite a few unexpected obstacles and challenges along the way, my son's non profit, 214EA, was still able to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our neighbors living on the streets of downtown Dallas.

Together, we distributed:

🍕 23 pizzas
🎒 60 care packages filled with snacks and necessities
💧 Bottled water
🧦 Brand new socks
👕 Brand new t-shirts
☀️ Sunscreen and other essential items

What could have been a discouraging day turned into a powerful reminder that compassion always finds a way.

Every month, our volunteers show up with one goal: to meet people where they are, offer kindness without judgment, and remind them that they have not been forgotten.

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, encouraged, and supported this outreach. Your generosity directly impacts lives and makes days like today possible.

Obstacles may change the route, but they never change the mission.

Today wasn’t perfect, but the mission was accomplished. More than 60 people received food, water, necessities, and a reminder that someone cares.
