Prayers for our brothers from Fountain Rural FD.
Another apparatus struck and firefighter injured while blocking traffic for an accident. Please pay attention when approaching an accident scene. We want to go home to our families safely!
Morning reading/viewing. Over to Pitt County and new details about Sunday's secondary apparatus accident that injured a Fountain Rural firefighter on I-587, after a car struck a fire truck that was blocking at the scene of an earlier accident near Farmville.

Fountain Rural Firefighter Steve Coffman was on the back of Rescue 5406 when a car struck the driver's side of the 1990 Mack/E-One rescue[1] at about 3:15 p.m.
The unit was providing blocking on I-587 at the NC 121 overpass, where investigators were working the scene of an earlier fatal collision-with-entrapment and resulting vehicle fire.
Coffman was thrown from of the back of the rescue truck, and sustained injuries consisting of "a broken wrist, road rash, and hip and foot problems."
He was transported to ECU Health Medical Center.
The driver of the colliding car, a 22-year-old male who was impaired, was also transported with serious injuries.
