Today was — so I’m ending the night celebrating the millions of Romanians around the world who carry with them the language, traditions, culture, and values of their homeland. 🇷🇴

As a Romanian American, this day holds special meaning for me. My family’s story is one of hope, opportunity, and gratitude. Like so many members of the Romanian diaspora, we carried our heritage with us while building a life in a new country. The Romanian community has made extraordinary contributions across the world, strengthening the places they call home while remaining connected to the traditions that shaped them.

As a Romanian American serving in public office, I am proud of the contributions that Romanian communities have made in Texas, across the United States, and around the world. This day is an opportunity to celebrate our shared heritage, recognize the strength of immigrant communities, and reflect on the values of hard work, perseverance, education, and service that continue to unite generations.

Today is a reminder that no matter where life takes us, our heritage remains a part of who we are. Happy Day of Romanians Everywhere to Romanians across Texas, the United States, Romania, and around the world.❤️

🇷🇴🇺🇸 As the United States marks the America250 anniversary this year, a remarkable historical connection between Romania and the founding story of America is being brought back into the spotlight.

A rare engraved copy of the United States Declaration of Independence — considered unique in Romania — is now on display at the Teleki-Bolyai Library in Târgu Mureș.

More than a historic document, the Declaration remains one of the most powerful symbols of freedom, democracy, and the universal aspiration for liberty. Its presence in Romania is also a reminder of the deep intellectual and cultural ties that have connected Europe and America across centuries.

At a moment when the United States celebrates 250 years since its founding, this extraordinary exhibit offers a powerful reflection on the enduring values that continue to unite democratic societies on both sides of the Atlantic. 🇷🇴🤝🇺🇸

I was honored to present a Texas House Resolution and Capitol Flag to Olympian and World Champion Amber Glenn in recognition of her incredible accomplishments on and off the ice.

Amber’s talent, determination, and resilience have inspired people around the world, but what makes this recognition even more meaningful is that she is one of our own. Amber is an constituent whose journey began right here in our community.

I was also proud to join the City of Plano as Mayor John Muns presented Amber with the Key to the City, a fitting honor for someone who has represented Plano with excellence, grace, and an unwavering fighting spirit.

Success at the highest level does not happen by accident. It takes years of early mornings, sacrifices, setbacks, perseverance, and belief. Amber has shown an entire generation of young athletes what is possible when talent meets hard work.

And for those who have been asking, stay tuned — Mihaela’s mini mic might just be making a comeback soon!

HD 70 is proud of you. Plano is proud of you. Texas is proud of you.

Congratulations, . We cannot wait to see what comes next.

Today, I issued a statement regarding reports that a Russian drone struck a residential building in Romania, injuring civilians inside a NATO member state.

As the first Romanian American elected in Texas, this news is deeply personal. Romania is not just a NATO ally. It is part of my family’s story.

The United States must continue standing firmly with Romania and our NATO partners. The safety of our allies, the stability of Europe, and the credibility of collective defense matter.

I met with Feeding Texas to discuss SNAP benefits in Texas, upcoming federal changes to the program, and what those changes could mean for working families across our state.

A lot of people are surprised to learn who actually relies on SNAP. In Texas, the majority of SNAP recipients are children, seniors, people with disabilities, and working families. Many are Texans working jobs in healthcare, retail, food service, construction, and education who are still struggling to keep up with rising costs.

Right now, about 1 in 10 Texans participates in SNAP, and the average benefit is only about $6 per person per day. We also discussed how proposed cost-sharing changes could shift hundreds of millions of dollars in additional costs onto Texas, potentially creating serious budget pressures for the state in future legislative sessions.

Food insecurity is not an abstract issue. It affects families in every community, including here in .

As we prepare for the next legislative session, I’m committed to listening, learning, and making sure the voices of working families are part of these conversations.
