Who am I?
I am the wife of Dale Cleavinger; he's been married to this adventure since 2005. He has been an employee of Rita Blanca Electric since 2006 and previously worked for Panhandle Machine Shop as a fabricator and welder. Many know him for his ability to create and weld anything.
I am the Mother/Mother-in-law of six children and spouses. Miranda, Megan and her husband Steven, Kyle and his wife Kori, Stetson, Brielee, and Brynn. All my kids went to Dalhart ISD and were raised here in our community. I am the Grandma, Grammy, or G'ma of six amazing grandchildren; Berkeley, Kenadee, Heavenly Hadley, Blaize, Eli, and Grady. I can't forget two cute puppies from a rescue. They're Aussie Heeler mut mix and already brats.
I moved to Dalhart with my parents, Stephen and Sherry, in December of 1989 from Oklahoma. My father worked for Exxon Mobile for much of my life. The refinery he was employeed at was sold so he took the Petroleum Route as a Pumper for a large part of the Texas Panhandle. He did that to be closer to family. However, I am not really an "Okie." I was born in Johnson, Kansas, so I am actualy a "Jayhawk."
My Great-grandparents settled in SW Kansas after the Oklahoma land run. Dalhart was always on the map for them. They shared stories of the trains that ran through here, owning land near Dumas, and staying at the beautiful hotel downtown Dalhart.
