Dale City Volunteer Fire Department (Boulevard's Bravest) DCVFD volunteers respond to fire and medical emergencies throughout Dale City, including Potomac Mills Mall and portions of I-95.

Founded in 1967 by the Dale City Civic Association, the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department (DCVFD) is a fire and rescue organization comprised of approximately 250 dedicated volunteers. The volunteers of the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department (DCVFD) provide more than 2,500 volunteer hours per week to the community. The DCVFD is consistently one of the busiest and most active volunteer fire organizations in the state, averaging approximately 20,000 runs per year. The DCVFD serves the community of Dale City, Virginia in its first due. Located approximately 25 miles south of Washington, DC, Dale City is a growing suburban community and is home to approximately 75,000 residents and many commercial areas.

25 years later, we remember.

Last night, members of the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department gathered at Sean T. Connaughton Plaza at the Prince William County Government Complex to honor the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Today, members joined our friends at Mission BBQ in Woodbridge for their annual 9/11 Memorial, continuing to honor the courage, sacrifice, and brotherhood that defined that day.

We will never forget those we lost, and we will always remember those who ran toward danger when others were running away.

Yesterday, members of the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department joined public safety personnel from across the region at the Arlington Police, Fire, Sheriff & ECC 9/11 Memorial 5K.

Held near the Pentagon, the annual race honors the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and recognizes the courage and sacrifice of those who responded. Now in its 24th year, the race has brought more than 40,000 runners across the finish line and raised over $1 million for charities supporting military personnel and civilians affected by 9/11 and the War on Terror.

We’re proud to stand alongside our brothers and sisters in public safety to remember, honor, and NEVER FORGET.

On Saturday, August 8th, units were dispatched to Box 2334 for an apartment fire. Engine 523 arrived to find smoke showing from Side A with heavy fire showing from Side C.

Engine 510 arrived as the second-due engine and advanced an attack line to Side C, quickly reaching the seat of the fire and extinguishing it.

Due to the number of apartments affected, a total of three alarms were struck. Engine 510 and Engine 513 remained on scene for approximately five hours before returning to Dale City.

On Tuesday, units were dispatched to Box 0257 for a reported townhouse fire.

Engine 502 arrived first due and located fire in the basement on Side Charlie of the structure.

Responding from the Midtown firehouse on Hillendale, Engine 513 arrived third due, deployed an attack line through the front door, and became the first engine company to make entry. Their efforts quickly contained the fire to the basement, preventing extension to the upper floors.

After knockdown, the crew completed a secondary search of the second floor before remaining on scene for approximately two hours assisting with overhaul and other fireground operations.

What a great way to kick off Independence Day.

This morning, members of the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department were proud to participate in the Dale City Fourth of July Parade, celebrating alongside our community and the many families who came out to enjoy the holiday. Thank you to everyone who waved, cheered, and helped make another year of this tradition a success.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy 250th Independence Day. If you see us out today, don’t forget we’re still standing by and ready to answer the call.

The Dale City 4th of July Parade has a new starting line!

Due to the expected high temperatures, this year’s parade route has been shortened to help keep participants and spectators safe.

New Starting Location: Hillendale Rd & Dale Blvd. (formerly Kirkdale Rd & Dale Blvd.)

It’s the same great Dale City tradition—just with a shorter route. We encourage everyone to stay cool, stay hydrated, and come out to celebrate Independence Day with the community.

Nothing gets handed to you in the truck company.

After completing his Tower Lead Firefighter packet, Firefighter Bates was presented with a custom furnace piece from the members of Tower 513. A symbol of the time, effort, and commitment it takes to earn your place as a lead firefighter at the Midtown Trucking Company.

This past Monday, the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department had 6 members successfully completed EMT class, allowing them to test for the NREMT-B exam.

But the hard work does not stop. Once they pass the exam, their next step will be to complete the PWC OMD endorsement.

Last Monday, the DCVFD had 3 members graduate from the PWC Volunteer Fire Academy, along with 9 others from across the county.

Through months of training, hard work, and dedication, these members have earned the privilege of serving their community as probationary firefighters in the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department.

Congratulations to Probationary Firefighters Rogers and Jimenez-Galindo, and Cadet Crichton!
