Commodore Training of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), Commodore Mitchell Livingstone, visited Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) and SCSTC AEGIS Training and Readiness Center to gain insight into training methodologies and capability development, readiness generation for surface combat systems, and outlines that will support RAN’s ongoing Aegis training onshoring in Australia, Aug. 28. He also engaged with RAN Sailors who are currently attending Aegis tactical training at the schoolhouse.
Livingstone and his staff were able to see firsthand the advanced training tools, simulators, and synthetic environments the RAN are looking to procure. The engagement provided a vital opportunity to discuss the future architecture of the Aegis training enterprise, workforce development, and lessons learned from partner nations to ensure long-term alignment and interoperability as Australia builds its enduring sovereign training system. This visit demonstrates the tight, direct linkage between U.S. Navy training pipelines and RAN readiness.
