Students from the Surface Combat Systems Training Command AEGIS Training and Readiness Center’s Capability Package 24 (Baseline 9.C2.4) Aegis Tactical Action Officer course learn about Dahlgren guns on a Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division Potomac River Test Range (PRTR) tour, May 1. The tour, led by John Fraysse III, a PRTR supervisor, included the Range Table, originally fabricated as a way of plotting gun fire trajectories on the range. Fraysse highlighted weapon systems on the Main Range gun line including the 18-inch/47-caliber MK 7 Gun, 16-inch/50-caliber MK 7 Gun, 5-inch MK 42 MOD 10, Close-In Weapon System, 8-inch MK 71 and 6-inch Open Mount and MK 110.
