During refurbishment projects, regulatory hold points (RHPs) are put in place as 4 mandatory checkpoints that require review and verification by our staff before they can be removed and the project can continue.

Our staff have verified that Bruce Power has met commitments for the removal of the fourth and final RHP and may now operate the refurbished Bruce Unit 3 reactor above 35% full power. This allows Bruce Power to return Unit 3 to commercial operation. Our oversight will continue under the normal baseline compliance program for operating reactors.

Another incredible STEM Workshop for Indigenous Girls+ is in the books!

This year’s workshop brought together 32 youth from across Canada to McMaster University for hands-on experiences blending Indigenous knowledge with Western science, inspired by the theme, “Radiant Minds, Blossoming Hearts.”

We’re proud to support this program as part of our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, helping to open pathways into STEM and Canada’s nuclear sector.

Each student’s curiosity and enthusiasm makes this program so meaningful and inspiring.

With the help of our Independent Environmental Monitoring Program (IEMP) and through all that we do, we’re committed to protecting the environment and ensuring nuclear safety and security for all people in Canada.

Let’s use as a reminder of all that we must continue to take action on, in order to conserve and protect our wildlife, forests, waterways and diverse ecosystems.
