Canadian Army The Canadian Army is known around the globe for its soldiers' courage, integrity and discipline. All are supported by 5,600 civilian employees.

The Canadian Army is the land component of the combined Canadian Forces. The Army protects Canadians and Canada and our interests by:

- defending Canadian territory and helping to maintain Canada's sovereignty by providing land surveillance and combat-ready forces;
-contributing to the collective defence of North America;
-providing armed and unarmed assistance to civil authorities when needed to

maintain public order and security;
-assisting provincial and other authorities with natural disasters including earthquakes, floods, storms, forest fires and other emergencies;
-and supporting Canadian interests abroad, including forces for United Nations (UN), North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and other multilateral operations, peacekeeping and humanitarian assistance. Canada's Army is the largest section of the Canadian Forces with 41,500 soldiers. The Regular Force units have 25,500 full time soldiers; the Army Reserve has 16,000 part-time, volunteer soldiers.

As the sun rises, we show our resolve.

Reservists from across Western Canada traveled to Wainwright, AB, to conduct Ex WESTERN SABRE. This combined arms exercise strengthened the warfighting skills of our soldiers so that we are ready for the challenges of today and tomorrow.

Training hard. Building readiness.

Exercise ARROWHEAD GUARDIAN 26 had soldiers conducting vehicle preparations, advancing UAS capabilities, and refining infantry combat skills with an emphasis on defensive operations.

AG26 also hosted Exercise ARCTIC BEAR, which brought together multiple brigades to prepare troops for future Operation NANOOK deployments in Canada's Arctic.

From interoperability to operational readiness, Army personnel put their skills to the test.

Putting endurance to the test! đŸ›¶

From August 28 to 29, soldiers from 2 CMBG took part in the IRON WARRIOR competition, tackling a series of physically and mentally demanding challenges. From ruck marches and portage runs to canoeing, competitors tested their physical endurance and mental resilience, embracing the challenge every step of the way. Congratulations to all the participants!

Les 28 et 29 aoĂ»t, des militaires du 2 GBMC ont participĂ© Ă  la compĂ©tition IRON WARRIOR, et ils ont relevĂ© une sĂ©rie de dĂ©fis exigeants sur le plan physique et mental. Des marches avec sac Ă  dos aux courses avec portage, en passant par le canotage, les compĂ©titeurs ont mis Ă  l’épreuve leur endurance physique et leur rĂ©silience mentale, relevant le dĂ©fi Ă  chaque Ă©tape. Moving! Covering!

Junior officers on the Dismounted Infantry Platoon Commander course at the Combat Training Centre Infantry School led live-fire platoon attacks, demonstrating the skills they acquired throughout the course. They also qualified them as Army Field Firing Range Safety Officers, gaining the expertise needed to lead and conduct live-fire ranges when they return to their units.

Deter and Defend.

Canadian and Spanish artillery batteries from the Multinational Artillery Battalion Group conducted combined fire missions, demonstrating seamless coordination between forward observers, command posts, and gun detachments.

As part of NATO Multinational Brigade Latvia, the Battalion brings together Allied nations committed to readiness, interoperability, and collective defence.

This training supports Canada's contribution to NATO's deterrence and defence posture on the Alliance's eastern flank.
