The Tallapoosa County Association of Volunteer Fire Departments is proud to share that we were honored to receive a Coosa Valley Rural Community & Development Grant, benefiting volunteer fire services across our county.
This morning, State Representative Ed Oliver joined representatives from 13 of our 14 Volunteer Fire Departments at Dadeville Fire Department as each department was presented with essential equipment. Each VFD received a Stihl BR800X Backpack Blower, a Stihl MS 271 20" Farm Boss Chainsaw, one spare chainsaw chain, three chainsaw files, one can of mixed gas, and one gallon of chainsaw bar oil.
These tools will make a direct impact in the field. The backpack blowers have proven to be extremely effective during wildland fire operations, helping create fire breaks and improve suppression efforts. The chainsaws will play a vital role in responding to storm damage, clearing downed trees, and keeping roadways safe for our communities.
Equally important, having standardized equipment across departments strengthens our automatic aid and mutual aid responses. When firefighters operate with familiar tools, it increases efficiency, coordination, and overall safety on scene.
The Tallapoosa County Association of Volunteer Fire Departments would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Coosa Valley RC&D Grant Project Management Team and all affiliated partners for their continued support and investment in rural fire protection.
We would also like to thank CTE Outdoors in Montgomery and Russell Building Supply in Dadeville for partnering with us to meet our grant needs! Your assistance is much appreciated!
Departments represented in the grant included: Buttston Volunteer Fire Department, Camp Hill Volunteer Fire Department, Dadeville Fire, Eagle Creek VFD, Hackneyville Volunteer Fire Department, Jacksons Gap Volunteeer Fire Department, Newsite Fire Department, Daviston VFD, Pace's Point Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Ourtown VFD Reeltown Volunteer Fire Department, Stillwaters Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue, City of Tallassee Fire Department, and Union Volunteer Fire & Rescue.
Thank you all for helping us better serve and protect the citizens of Tallapoosa County. Coosa Valley RC&D
