Nothing prepares you for the love you feel as a grandmother. This National Grandparents’ Day, my granddaughters Lena, Francesca, and Leila turned the tables and interviewed me! It’s the most special interview I’ve ever done. Being “Nonna” to these three girls is one of my life’s greatest joys. Happy Grandparents’ Day to all of the abuelitos and abuelitas of Miami-Dade. 💞

This morning we gathered with the men and women of Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue at Tropical Park to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. We hold in our hearts the loved ones of each victim, who are still grieving, and every first responder who heeded the call and risked their lives to save others. Twenty-five years later, we will never forget. 🇺🇸

The Source of Life instructs us to build a Mikdash, a sacred sanctuary, a home where the Divine can dwell within and among us. Today I joined NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy for a briefing on Sunday’s cargo plane crash at MIA. Our hearts remain with the families affected. I am deeply grateful to our Fire Rescue, law enforcement and Aviation teams for their swift, professional response. We will continue working closely with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and The FAA as the investigation moves forward.
