Argyle VFD responded to an afternoon report of smoke on Friday, June 5 near the intersection of 20 Mile and Pleasant Valley Rds, with two units and three personnel. The Hawkwright fire was contained to a quarter acre. Thanks to Bob Fischer for the photo.

Members of Argyle VFD attended the ribbon cutting for the new State Wildland Fire District Office in Hot Springs. The new facility was dedicated to Trampus Haskvitz who tragically lost his life on August 11, 2011 in the Coal Canyon Fire. Several Wildland Fire personnel were on hand along with local officials and area fire departments. Governor Rhoden made the dedication and performed the ribbon cutting.

However, we kindly request that those who do not live in the area refrain from entering, as the fire is currently about 50% contained. Thank you for your cooperation.

Good morning, the evacuation status is still in place for Lone Elk Drive and all connecting roads, as well as Mountain Lion Lane and all of its connecting roads. We hope to have the evacuation lifted by noon if it is safe to do so. Thank you for your cooperation.

On February 21, AVFD provided a class for local residents on Fire Extinguisher principles and usage. Thanks to Brian Hastey for the informative and fun presentation, and AVFD members who helped participants practice fire suppression themselves.
