Capitalism ensures everyone benefits; however, it's clear that's not the case in todays economy. It seems the more wealth this country accumulates, the more difficult it becomes while the rich benefit regardless of market conditions. I believe whether you're a Republican or Democrat, each of us see something is off. This is why some say, "Billionaires need to pay their fair share", but the real issue is that w2 wage earners have been unfairly grafted into a tax system that was made for businesses and business owners to encourage growth.

The fact that we are the richest country in the world and yet low and middle income families are struggling indicates a fatal flaw, not in Capitalism, but in governance. Regulations are destroying the livelihood of Americans and is a way for your government to increase tax revenue into the public coffers. We need to value people more than power and make sure that a rising tide lifts all boats.

I will introduce legislation that gradually reduces the tax burden on w2 wage earners, while simultaneously tasking Congress to achieve a 4% growth in GDP year-after-year, and reduce deficit spending by 1-2% annually.

Madison once stated that, "...the people are the only legitimate fountain of power..." the fountain of power Madison is talking about is not elections, it is revenue. Today however, government and individuals in government, have access to revenue streams that compete with the peoples legitimate power. Whether it is a result of W2 Wage earners required to pay taxes from their paycheck before it hits the bank, unfairly grafts you into a tax system that was made for businesses, politicians that somehow earn millions in just a few short years while in Congress, or Census dollars in California that amounts to over a third of the states total revenue and support.

I will make sure that other revenue streams do not cloud the judgement, policy, and laws of your government and instead restores the bedrock principles of this nation that elevates your family to the critical role it plays in our way of life. You deserve a state that is laser focused on the critical needs of our people and families.

Six years after I moved to California, my apartment still held two pieces of furniture: a used couch and a mattress.

That was enough to start. That’s what affordability means to me. Not luxury. A fair shot to start small and build something.

Too many young families here never get that first step. I want to give it back by letting working people keep more of what they earn.

Taxation without Representation means your government can obtain tax revenue without ensuring it is supporting you and your family. It also means your State has no incentive to preserve Freedom and Liberty.

Illegal immigration allows a State to deny Freedom and Liberty and effectively establish an underclass- a slave class. We are free because we can live according to our conscience, our values, and morals.

Illegal immigration is THE most important issue of our time because it cuts to the core of our country's values and challenges it- do we really value Freedom and Liberty? We fought a revolutionary war over this question, a civil war over the same question, and it will destroy our nation if we refuse to assert the true value of individuals and the purpose of our government.

We cannot, and must not, confuse a love of money and power with a warped sense of compassion. We need strong legal pathways for immigrants, and we must never let anyone convince us that illegal immigration is compassionate for the sake of cheap labor and financial advantage. If we have an affordability issue in this country- we solve it.

Hollister general fund has $178.00 in the bank. That's it. And, when your federal government adds tremendous pressure on your communities, can you imagine how much downward pressure it places on your city? Folks, your State and Federal governments exist to support your community.

It's time to stop with political posturing on immigration and for the Federal government to stop sacrificing the well-being of our local communities and your families.

We have communities in CA18 without clean water and city budgets that are nearly bankrupt. There is absolutely no reason any of you should put up with this nonsense at any level of government.

It is time for a change to get people in office that are serious about strengthening your communities instead of finding every excuse why they can't or won't support you.

They can find millions of dollars for the homeless, billions of dollars for high speed rail, and make every excuse why they won't support transparency in government, but they can't find even ONE for why you're owed accountability.
