Mashburn Elementary

Mashburn Elementary OFFICIAL SITE of Mashburn Elementary School located in Cumming, Georgia. It is built on land donated by Uni City through Billy Martin. Ms.

Mashburn Elementary was named after the late Dr. Marcus Mashburn, Sr., a prominent local physician. The school opened in 1976 to 250 students from Big Creek and Cumming elementary schools. Since its opening Mashburn Elementary has received four additions and renovations to its campus. Ruth Hopewell was the school’s first principal and was the first full-time female principal in the history of Forsyth County Schools.

The second half of an Early Release Day matters, too! 💙🐻

At Mashburn, this time gives us the opportunity to pour into our teachers and honor them as learners. Today, we gathered around the table for a meal, focused on the targets that will best meet the needs of our students, and shared ways we can support one another in staying well throughout the year.

When we invest in our teachers—their learning, their growth, and their well-being—we invest in our students. Grateful for time to learn, connect, and grow together! 💙⭐️

Do you want to be a ROCK STAR? No really! You will be a Rock Star at Mashburn when you volunteer as a Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students!) Dads, Granddads, Uncles-you start in the carline with high fives, move on to the Mashburn Morning News (this is where your popularity begins), help in the your child(ren)'s classroom, have lunch with your child(ren), help out in our Specials classrooms, etc. Busy, full day...but you also have breaks to catch up on emails, phone calls, etc. Memories will be made!

During our Den Meetings our Blue Bears sang the Blue Bear song, learned our new cheers, announced the opening of the new Mashburn Market, reviewed what PAWS stands for and lastly focused on what P stands for in PAWS! “P” stands for Positive Attitude.
