๐Ÿšจ Speed Limit Reminder for City Streets ๐Ÿšจ

The City of Cumby would like to remind all drivers to slow down and use caution while traveling on city streets, especially with children out of school for summer break and spending more time outside playing, walking, and riding bikes.

The City has received several calls regarding vehicles driving too fast on residential streets, including reports of children nearly being hit. Please help us keep our neighborhoods safe.

Under City Ordinance Article 3, Speed Limits, Sec. 7-3-01, the speed limit on all city-maintained streets and annexed roadways within the corporate limits of Cumby, Texas is 30 miles per hour, unless otherwise posted.

Motorists traveling on TxDOT-regulated roadways within the city limits must follow the speed limits established by TxDOT.

This ordinance is enforced by the Cumby Police Department and other designated authorities. Violations may be subject to fines and penalties under the Texas Transportation Code and local municipal code.

Ordinance No. 65-1A became effective March 11, 2025.

Please slow down, stay alert, and do your part to keep Cumby safe. A few extra seconds could prevent a tragedy.
