Applications are now open for Leadership Allegany Rising, a program designed to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation of leaders in Allegany County.

Leadership Allegany Rising brings together high school juniors from across the county to explore the industries, organizations, and institutions that shape our community. Through hands-on experiences and conversations with local leaders, participants gain valuable insight into the opportunities and challenges facing our region.

Over the course of this program, students participate in topic days focused on:
• Leadership Development
• Healthcare & Social Services
• Government
• Business, Economic Development & Careers
• Higher Education

The program begins with orientation in September and concludes with graduation in March. Up to four students from each Allegany County high school are selected to participate, and there is no cost to students thanks to the support of Chamber members and sponsors.

This evening we attended the ribbon cutting and social for The Wills Hotel in Downtown Cumberland. They joined the Chamber as soon as they started work and booked an After Hours (coming in 2027)! We love people who see a vision, invest, and know the potential in this community we call home. It’s officially official, and we know you’re already doing amazing! Thanks for the great apps, tours, and hospitality!
