🚔🚒 Thank You for Supporting the 4th Annual Back the Red & Blue Fundraiser! 🚒🚔

The Cumberland Police Department would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, sponsored, and supported the 4th Annual Back the Red & Blue Fundraiser held on June 5th!!

A special thank you goes to the sponsors, Bourbon's Bar and Hammer Bar, and to the Cumberland American Legion for hosting this year's event due to weather.

We would also like to thank the many businesses and individuals who donated raffle items, volunteered their time, and attended the fundraiser. The continued support we receive from this community means more than words can express.

One of the highlights of the evening was the annual water balloon battle between local kids and members of the Cumberland Police and Fire Departments. Judging by the smiles, laughter, and soaked uniforms, we think it's safe to say the kids came out on top once again! These moments remind us how fortunate we are to serve such an incredible community.

Thank you for standing behind your local first responders and helping make this event another memorable success. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

Reminder: Glass Containers Prohibited in City Parks

Glass containers are prohibited in all City parks pursuant to City Ordinance 9.25.

This morning, City staff discovered a significant amount of broken glass at both the City Beach and Tourist Park. Broken glass creates a serious safety hazard, particularly for children and families who enjoy these areas and often walk barefoot.

To help keep our parks safe and enjoyable for everyone, the Cumberland Police Department will be increasing enforcement of Ordinance 9.25 and monitoring parks for prohibited glass containers.

We appreciate the community's cooperation in helping maintain safe, clean, and family-friendly recreational areas.

Over the last few days, K9 teams from across northwest Wisconsin and the metro met in Rochester for yearly USPCA patrol trials.

We are proud to say K9 Kilo and his handler, Officer Brunner successfully completed their first USPCA patrol trial certifying them for another year in criminal apprehension, handler protection, suspect search, article search and obedience.

Officer Bachowski decoyed for the K9 team.

Special thanks to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office for hosting the event!

We have been having issues with people not abiding by the City brush dump regulations. For example, the vehicle in this photograph is in violation.

The city brush dump is for City of Cumberland residents only. You are not permitted to dump stumps, roots, garbage, tires, etc. See the full ordinance at the link below. Please remember that having a city brush dump, at no cost to use, is a huge privilege to the residents, not a right, so we encourage everyone to be mindful of that.

The brush dump is monitored 24/7. This is the sign posted at the entrance.

A little over a year ago Officer Brunner and K9 Kilo graduated from St. Paul Police Departments 4-month K9 course.

Since completing the course and working the streets, K9 Kilo has been deployed a total of 70 times. Over 2.43 pounds of controlled substances have been taken off the streets due to K9 Kilo’s nose. These substances include Co***ne, Crack, Fentanyl, He**in, Methamphetamine and Ma*****na along with multiple items of drug paraphernalia.

K9 Kilo is also credited with 5 felony surrenders (One whom was armed with a firearm), 1 violent felony apprehension and 1 misdemeanor surrender.

K9 Kilo and Officer Brunner have assisted several neighboring agencies, building the working bond between departments.
