Brush clearance season is here and with wildfire danger continuing to impact our region, it’s critical that everyone does their part to help protect their homes and neighborhoods.

If you live in a High Fire Severity Zone, now is the time to clear dead vegetation and create defensible space around your home. Notice letters have been mailed out and green waste dumpsters are available at two locations to help you dispose of brush:

- Corner of Wright Terrace & Wrightcrest Drive
- Lot where Flaxton Street becomes Youngworth Road

Dumpsters are available through July 20 — for green waste only.

Today we recognize a significant milestone for one of our own—please join us in congratulating Jackson Erdman.

After seven months of rigorous training, Jackson has graduated from paramedic school. His training included classroom instruction, emergency room clinical rotations, and a field internship at LAFD Station 6—each step preparing him to deliver advanced, life-saving care in the field.

Jackson is a member of the UCLA Paramedic Education Program Class 81, one of the nation’s most respected programs, with over 50 years of training excellence and a strong first-time pass rate on the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam.

This achievement reflects his dedication, discipline, and commitment to serving others. We are fortunate to have Jackson as part of our team and look forward to the continued impact he will make in our community.

Congratulations, Jackson. 👏🔥

At approximately 1:00 PM today, Culver City Fire Department crews responded to a grass fire near Jefferson Blvd and Lotz Lane.

Firefighters arrived to find approximately one acre of grass burning on the south side of Jefferson, extending toward the baseball fields. Crews quickly began a coordinated fire attack with assistance from the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

Forward progress of the fire was stopped in approximately 45 minutes. Crews will remain on scene to extinguish hotspots and ensure full containment.

We appreciate the support of our regional partners and thank the community for staying aware and allowing crews space to work safely.
