Join us in celebrating Montana Rangeland Appreciation Month (MRAM)!
The 68th Montana Legislature dedicated the month of June to rangelands with the goal of raising public awareness about the importance of rangelands, the ecosystem services they provide, and actions we can all take to preserve and protect these lands that encompass 70% or 68 million acres of Montana! Stay tuned in June to learn how rangelands positively impact water, wildlife, pollinators, livestock, the economy and more!

Here is the inventory for our public tree sale! These will have to be picked up on Wednesday, May 6th, between 0900-1200 at the farigrounds in Culbertson!

It takes over 100 years to form just 1 inch of topsoil.🌱📅

This rate depends on several factors, including parent rock material, climate and weathering conditions, organic material accumulation, vegetative cover and land use, and biological activity like worms, fungi, and microbes.

In areas with rich biological activity and moisture, topsoil might form in 100 years. In dry, cold, or heavily disturbed regions, it may take 500 to even 1000 years!

Soil is a living and slowly renewing resource. Protecting what we have is much easier than rebuilding what we lose.

Agricultural conservation practices, like planting cover crops and reducing soil disturbance, help keep soil in place, prevent erosion, increase farm productivity and profitability, and protect nearby habitats.🌾🚜🧑‍🌾

Conservation districts across the country work with local farmers and producers to implement soil health practices on their lands!

Here is what we have available, come check them out at the fairgrounds in the Quonset until 12:00 today! Open Friday from 9:00-12:00.

This 400 # shipment of trees arrived today! It contains about 3700 trees that have to be be sorted and counted before I can distribute! Keep in mind that this is 1 of 5 shipments that we receive. I am trying to get everyone’s preorders ready as quickly as I can and will call you as soon as you can pickup your trees 😃
