Dont forget to visit Sedalia Cafe tomorrow 11-2!

Next Sunday, September 6, we are asking our entire community to come out and eat with us.

We are having a rebate day for Cuba Volunteer Fire Department. A percentage of proceeds from our lunch buffet will be donated to help them recover after their fire department fire on August 13.

They lost crucial equipment & suffered damage to their building..equipment they depend on to serve our communities.

Let’s have their back and show them we support all they do.

Mark your calendars and come eat with us. Every person who walks through our doors September 6 is helping make a difference.

Thanks,
Amy

Make plans to come out Sunday, September 6, and support the Cuba Volunteer Fire Department!

Cuba Volunteer Fire Department holds a very special place in my heart, not just because of the incredible job they do for our community, but because it is a part of my family’s history.

My granddaddy, Ralph Laird, founded the Cuba Volunteer Fire Department in 1982. He served as both the President of the Board and Fire Chief, giving his time, heart, and dedication to protecting the people of Cuba and the surrounding communities.

My Uncle Bo Gargus also played a very special part in its history. He built the current building that houses the fire department — a place for the men and women who have continued serving and protecting our community.

So when I look at the Cuba Volunteer Fire Department, I don’t just see a fire department. I see family.

Knowing that my granddaddy started this department and that my uncle built it makes what has happened to them especially heartbreaking — but it also makes me even more determined to see our community come together and support them.

This one is personal for me.

Hi, I wanted to share what’s happening with the Cuba Community Volunteer Fire Department in Graves County, Kentucky. A recent station fire damaged or destroyed critical equipment, including protective turnout gear, radio equipment, traffic-safety supplies, and SCBA oxygen, even though our firefighters were able to save the apparatus and much of our equipment. We’ve just launched this fundraiser, and the support already received is helping us begin replacing what we need to keep our firefighters and neighbors safe. If you’re able, please donate through the GoFundMe page or share it with someone who may want to help us rebuild. 🚒

🔥 🚒 ❤️

Today, on National Firefighter Day, we honor and celebrate the brave men and women who answer the call whenever their community needs them.

This year, that appreciation feels even more personal. Last week, our main fire station suffered a devastating structure fire—yet even in the face of losing their own home base, our firefighters continue to show up, serve, protect, and put others before themselves.

A fire station is more than a building. It is a place where courage lives, where friendships are built, where calls are answered, and where firefighters prepare to protect the very community they call home.

To every firefighter who gives their time, courage, strength, and heart: Thank you. Thank you for running toward danger when everyone else is running away. Thank you for protecting our families, our homes, and our community. And thank you for continuing to serve, even when your own department has faced such a difficult loss.
We stand behind you today and every day. The building may have been damaged, but the heart of this department cannot be burned away. 🔥❤️

🚒 Happy National Firefighter Day to our heroes!
Thank you for all that you do and all that you sacrifice.

Stay strong. Stay safe. And know that your community is standing with you. 🇺🇸

As most of you know, our main station was damaged today from a fire.

While this is a devastating loss, we were able to save our trucks and gear so we will still be operational if needed!

We appreciate all of the agencies that responded to assist us today, as well mayfield ambulance service and every department that waited on stand by.

If you plan to attend please let us know so we can ensure we have plenty of food!

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our former Fire Chief Richard Walker.

Chief Walker dedicated 23 years of service to our department and our community. His leadership, courage, and commitment to protecting others left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of serving alongside him. He was more than a Fire Chief he was a mentor, a friend, and an inspiration to generations of firefighters.

We are grateful for his countless years of service, sacrifice, and the legacy he leaves behind. His devotion to the fire service and to the people of this community will never be forgotten.

Please keep Chief Walker's family, friends, and all who loved him in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Chief. Your watch is over. We will take it from here.

Thank you for your service. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
