The Crystal Lake Police Department is proud to participate in IDOT’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, joining law enforcement agencies across Illinois in working to keep our roads safe this holiday weekend.

Police and other legitimate government agencies will never demand payment in cryptocurrency.

The Crystal Lake Police Department and law enforcement agencies nationwide are partnering with MADD for the ninth official “Saturation Saturday,” a coordinated effort to combat impaired driving ahead of Labor Day weekend.

Our goal is simple: save lives. By increasing impaired-driving enforcement and visibility during one of the year’s busiest travel periods, we can help prevent crashes, injuries, and fatalities. Saturation Saturday also supports the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, reinforcing the importance of high-visibility enforcement throughout the Labor Day period.

We’re excited to have them join the CLPD family and look forward to watching them learn, grow, and prepare for a career in law enforcement.

In 2025, the Crystal Lake Police Department participated in the Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge, sponsored by the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police. The program encourages law enforcement agencies to develop and implement comprehensive traffic safety initiatives with the goal of reducing crashes and making our communities safer.

Last week, the Crystal Lake Police Department was recognized for earning first place in the Municipal 66–100 Sworn Division. This recognition reflects the dedication of our officers and our continued commitment to traffic safety and public education.

We are proud of this accomplishment and look forward to continuing our efforts to promote safer roadways throughout Crystal Lake in 2026.

This Labor Day, the Crystal Lake Police Department is one of over 200 agencies in Illinois stepping up enforcement for . Drivers can expect to see more law enforcement on the road starting August 20th through September 8th.

Plan ahead: Before you have even one drink, designate a sober driver to get you home safely. If you wait until you’ve been drinking to make this decision, you might not make the best one.
