Indiana's large 1st District contains an active and growing Libertarian network. Election after election, counties within Indiana's 1st District come through with some of the state's highest percentage of votes for Libertarian Party candidates. Voters will have a Libertarian Party choice at municipal, county, state and federal levels. Even with our growth, we can always use more help. We need new faces running for office. We need support for our candidates. We need increased outreach to the media. We need to recruit more and more members. As we achieve these goals, we will see the tide turn back toward a smaller government, more respectful of individual liberties, small business and local decision-making. Join the Libertarian Party of Indiana. Join us in the 1st District. In liberty,

Michael Sandridge
Libertarian Party of Lake County Chair

Let's have fun with numbers shall we?

Approximately 13% of Lake County lives at our below the poverty line of $2,600 (monthly) for a family of four.

The average cost (just for tickets) for a family of four to attend a Bears game is nearly $2,200.

The state of Indiana intends to impose a 1% Food & Beverage tax on Lake and Porter county (in addition to various other taxes) to help pay for the nearly $1 billion incentive package to bring the Bears to Indiana.

For many families in our area the prospect of attending a Bears game is simply unaffordable, yet every one of us will be responsible for paying for a new stadium that many will never use.

Do you support our government subsidizing a stadium for a multibillion dollar organization?

A family of four could spend over $2,100 at Soldier Field, according to an analysis released as the Bears ready for their preseason opener.

Now we are in no way condoning the destruction of government (technically private) property, but just spotted the first downed Flock camera in Lake County.

Like many of us, our neighbors are growing tired of government overreach, and are taking action.
