The Crowley Police Department was honored to stand alongside our local, state, and federal partners in the ongoing fight against crimes targeting children by participating in Operation Soteria Shield, a multi-agency effort led by the FBI Dallas Division and the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. This operation resulted in 276 arrests related to child exploitation offenses and the rescue of 89 children. These efforts reflect the commitment of law enforcement agencies across Texas to protect children, identify offenders, and bring those responsible to justice.

Operation Soteria Shield highlights the importance of continued reporting by parents, guardians, schools, technology companies, and community members. Online child exploitation often begins with seemingly ordinary digital contact, and early reporting can be critical to stopping abuse and identifying victims.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to talk with children about online safety, monitor digital activity, report suspicious communications, and contact law enforcement if they believe a child is being targeted or exploited online.

Thanks to our community’s efforts, 205 pounds of unwanted and expired medications were safely collected through our permanent drop-off box in the lobby and items brought in during Saturday’s Drug Take Back event.

Properly disposing of medications helps keep them out of the wrong hands and protects our environment. We appreciate everyone who took the time to clean out their medicine cabinets and make a difference.

**Reminder** Our permanent medication drop-off box is available year-round in the Police Department jail lobby during regular business hours.
