Media Release

An investigation into sexual abuse of a minor has been concluded with the arrest of several people. These crimes were committed at a residence in northern Acadia Parish.

During the investigation, it was determined that the juvenile victim had been sexually assaulted by her mother's boyfriend and the boyfriend's adult son on multiple occasions. During this investigation, forensic interviews were completed with healthcare professionals and investigators. This investigation has led to the arrest of the child's mother and her boyfriend. A third suspect has been located and arrested in Montana and is pending extradition to Acadia Parish.

Arrested were:

Timothy David Mixon, 43, of Eunice: He was charged with 3 counts of 2nd Degree Cruelty of a Juvenile, 2 counts of 2nd Degree R**e, 2 counts of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile and 1 count of Molestation of a Juvenile. His bond has been set at $240,000. Mixon remains incarcerated.

Rebecca Wilkinson, 34, of Eunice: She was charged with 2 counts of Failure to Report the Commission of Certain Felonies. Her bond was set at $25,000 and she has posted bond.

Extradition is pending for Kyler Mixon, 18, of Glendive, Montana: He has been arrested by authorities in Montana and is waiting on extradition to Acadia Parish. Kyler Mixon's arrest warrants were for: 2 counts of 2nd Degree R**e and 1 count of Sexual Battery. Bond will be set upon his extradition to Acadia Parish.

"We are seeing an increase in sexual misconduct involving juveniles and adult family members or live in boyfriends. In some cases, we are discovering that the child's mother has knowledge of what is occurring, but fails their child by not reporting and standing up for their child. If a parent or guardian allows this to occur without reporting and defending their child, they will be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law" stated Sheriff KP Gibson.
