Absolutely no excuse for disrespecting the cemetery by dumping and scattering your trash...🤬
There were several pieces of mail so we know where it came from; but doubt it was the home owner.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans, R.E. Lee Camp 239 held a ceremony to honor the Confederate war dead and their sons and grandsons that died in WWI, WWll, Korea & Vietnam.
Of the 24 known Confederate Veterans buried here there are 2 that gave their lives during the war.
Pvt Daniel Hayden, Co C, 21st TX Infantry & Sgt William Holdridge, Co H, 37th Miss Infantry.
Pvt Hayden enlisted at Tarrant County; his remains brought home in 1863.
Sgt Holdridge enlisted in Miss; died and buried there in 1862; but whose remains were removed and reburied in Crowley by his widow when she moved here in 1900.

Thanks to Danny Carlos and Jayleen Carlos for their wonderful volunteer work they are doing to help maintain this Historic Crowley Cemetery.

Our Burial Records have been updated, but they are a continuing work in progress of adding new exciting historical information on those buried here.

James, Jayleen and Danny updated our Display Board by the main gate entrance today with our Burial record updates. If you haven’t stopped and looked at this information, you need too! The Records are 52 pages of those great ancestors in family name order, grave location, Birth and Death dates. There is a Map showing the layout of the Cementery and an easy way to locate your family or friends grave.

Our records have been checked recently against all the Find a Grave data and making necessary changes data added. Have requested changes to several of their incorrect data entries and received confirmation of those requests being updated.

One of the graves with changes was Pvt. Charles Hayden, which is really Charles Hayden Neely. He was a young WWI Veteran who was ran over and killed by a military vehicle in 1918.

This Cementery is well maintained and is a great place to spend a few hours walking though to visit graves back to 1857. We have several unknown graves marked, but there are many unmarked. Have heard stories of railroad workers who died during the 1917 -1918 Spanish Flu who were buried and not well marked or recorded.

Thanks to our awesome Volunteers of Crowley Cemetery Association Officers and Board of Directors who oversee and maintain the upkeep of its beauty, records and Historical memories.
