Thank you to everyone one who made George Sepsey’s funeral a memorable one. From the Military presence & American Legion post 255, Port Sanilac VFW and the other members who laying a fallen comrade to rest.

Thank you to our Croswell Police and Sheriffs department for the es**rt, Croswell Fire Department and the private citizen who had the WWII era plane and did a fly over at the funeral home and the cemetery. It was truly an incredible experience.

Out of respect for our veterans and George’s family please keep responses positive and respectful.

Croswell Road Closure

Croswell Road between Wells Street and Harrington Road will be closed on June 9th 4pm-9pm and 10th from 2pm-9pm.
This closure will occur for the safety of the Harness racers and their horses.

We would like to thank you in advance for your patience, understanding and cooperation. If you should have any questions about these closures, you may reach out to the Police Chief, Jason Schoen or call City Hall.

City of Croswell Downtown Development Authority (D.D.A.) has decided that for America’s 250th birthday they are sponsoring a decorating contest in the D.D.A. district!

To register email the City Clerk and you will be added to the voting link. Businesses are welcome to participate by decorating their store with the most patriotic items.

Once complete, send in a picture via email or let City Hall know you are ready to have a picture uploaded to the voting link.

1st place is $150 electric bill credit, 2nd place is $100 electric credit, 3rd place is a $75 electric credit.

Voting will be from July 1st through July 6th. Winners will be notified after the DDA meeting on July 16th.

Each business will be given a QR code to place at the store for patrons to vote. A voting invitation will also be posted on the City website and page to allow residents who are unable to get out or scan a code, may also vote. We encourage you to share that link on your own social media for votes.

CPL George Francis Sepsey will be returning home after 84 years on Friday June 5th. The estimated arrival time for the homecoming is between 7-8pm. He will be arriving with a Military es**rt at Detroit Metro. The es**rt will be joined by multiple police departments including Croswell Police and a group of motorcycle riders.

Upon the arrival into town the route will be from Wildcat to Croswell Rd. On Croswell Road there will be a salute of water arches from the Croswell Fire Department and the motorcade will head west on Sanborn to Pomeroy's Funeral Home. They will be greeted by the Croswell American Legion who will be pallbearers.

As a memorial to George, the City of Croswell has renamed Harrington Park to the George Sepsey Memorial Park. The park will feature a sign, flag pole and a plaque related to George's story. Thank you to the American Legion Post 255 for coordinating and raising funds, Young's Equipment for donation of the flag pole and the O'Hare family for the plaque.
