Yesterday, Lake Tansi Fire Department assisted CCEMS with a landing zone at Brown Elementary.

Exciting news:

Lake Tansi Volunteer Fire Department has been able to staff the station, when able, 8am to 8pm with firefighters multiple days throughout the month. This gives a staffed fire engine and attack truck to be able to respond to calls with a faster response time. We have seen already benefits of this responding to multiple calls throughout the coverage area.

Also, if you are in need or know someone in need of smoke detectors or CO detectors please contact the Cumberland County Fire Department man station.

Last night Cumberland County Fire/Rescue held their annual firefighters banquet at the 4H Camp. Lake Tansi Volunteer Fire Department was represented well.

Happy Fall Back Time! Remember, time falls back 1 hour tonight. This is a good time to change your batteries in your smoke and CO detectors. If your detectors are older than 10 years, time to retire them and replace with new ones.

Colder temperatures are setting in also. Have you had your HVAC systems checked? This is a good time to do so before you turn your heat on. Also, if your using alternative heating sources, remember to keep space around space heaters, never plug space heaters into extension cords, and if using propane heaters be sure to have adequate ventilation and working CO detectors.

If you are in need of smoke or CO detectors contact your local fire department for assistance.

Happy Halloween Everyone! Tonight Lake Tansi Firefighters and Lake Tansi Police Officers will be handing out candy at the station starting at 5pm until the candy last.

Congratulations to FF. Shawn Aytes on passing is national registry EMR. FF./ EMR Aytes has put in a lot of hard work studying and going to classes while responding to calls and working his full time job as a deputy. This will not only help serve the Lake Tansi community better but Cumberland County as a whole. Congratulations Shawn!
