Being a ‘smart cookie’ means riding safely every time.

Children should always be properly secured in a right car seat for their age, height, and weight. To reduce choking risks, snacks are best enjoyed when the vehicle is parked. A few simple safety choices can help protect children on every trip.

Follow this recipe for safe installation of your child's car seat:
1. Check the car's instruction manual and the car seat manufacturer's manual for seat specific instructions
2. Install with either the lower anchors or the vehicle's seatbelt, making sure that the seat moves less than one inch side to side or forward and backward
3. Check that the seat is at the appropriate recline for the child's age or development
4. Always buckle your child with a snug harness, at the appropriate height for the direction their facing!
