Our office has received several calls this morning about a text message going around from a law firm. The message is informing people that they have a traffic ticket out of JP court and requesting payment. This is a scam we don’t send out text messages or call people about tickets. If you get a text or call please report it to your law enforcement agency.

Happy to have new flooring in the JP's office. The tile floors were deteriorated and required renovation. Appreciative of the support from the Houston County Commissioners Court in making these changes possible.

After the recent attack this morning on the Houston County Justice Center should open a lot of people’s eyes who think this is a small town and things like that won’t happen here. It can surely happen anywhere and I thank the lord no one was injured and the officers handled the situation swiftly. When i took office two years ago I evaluated the security risks in my office and have had conversations with other county officials on beefing up the security in the justice of the peace office. My main priority is the safety of the citizens that come into my office on business and my office staff. I will be working closely with Sheriff Zak Benge and his staff on how we can take better security measures to keep our offices safe.
