This past Sunday, I was thrilled to partner with Senator Tim Grayson to bring our Community BBQ & Backpack Giveaway to my hometown of Martinez!

Families joined us for games, community resources, and fun! I enjoyed connecting with all of you and helping our students kick off the school year with a new backpack.

Thank you to Social Good Fund, Community Youth Center, Safe Return Project, Walmart, CVS, and all of our community partners who made this day possible!

Closing out the 2026 Legislative Session and my completing my first term representing Contra Costa County, I’m proud to have sent my eighth and final bill of the year to Governor Newsom’s desk.

This year, I focused on issues that matter most to our communities—from tackling affordability and strengthening accountability, to investing in and revitalizing my hometown of Martinez. Each of these bills reflects the priorities and values of Contra Costa County and Californians across the state.
