Cub Scout Pack 422 and Boy Scout Troop 419 - Crockett, Texas Troop 419, Crockett, Texas Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age.

Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, can no longer join Cub Scouting, but they may be eligible to join the Boy Scouting or Venturing program. For over a century, the Boys Scouts of America (BSA) has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest

and most prominent religious values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. Crockett Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts are chartered through Crockett First Methodist Church. Philmont Recognition 2025-Each Scout was presented an “I made it” award, a Philmont neckerchief and slide, as well as multiple patches including the 50 miler, Duty to God, Philmont adventurer, among others. Completing the 61 mile trek was no easy feat. We are extremely proud of Troop 419. Thanks to the adult leaders that made this lifetime experience happen for the Scouts.

BSA Troop 419 of Crockett is completing a plan, 18 months in the making. After a weekend of getting acclimated to the altitude and seeing some of the local sights, they began a 9 day wilderness trek at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico.
It’s a once in a lifetime experience, requiring dedication and commitment from both the Scouts and parents. The young men made a commitment to each other for teamwork and responsibility. They planned, trained, and developed their skills to complete this trek. 3 adult and two youth Eagle Scouts are in this crew. They set out on the trail this morning, at 8:00 am. Today was a bit of a shakedown with personal gear and full loads of food for the next few days.
Please join me in wishing them a wonderful, life enhancing experience over coming days. They are scheduled to return home to Crockett on July 11, 2025!!
