Spring Rises at Miami Valley Paper Tube Co.
The vision of the grounds’ first mow, our blooming trees, and a chance for the MVPT Co. team to break bread on the eve the Easter Holiday Weekend signals the passing of Old Man Winter and the arrival of longer warmer days. It is also a good time to reflect on the long trial our people, our company, our country, and all people of the world have endured as we look for this season of resurrection to enlighten our paths to the future.

Paper and Materials Markets Continue to be Volatile.
As you are no doubt experiencing in your own businesses, materials for manufacturing and converting are becoming difficult to attain and prices continue to rise from the demand on limited supply. Lead times on the paperboard used to make our tubes began to stretch out last fall from 2 weeks to 6 weeks. As of March of 2021, these lead times for our materials were out to a solid 8-10 weeks across the board. Prices have continued to march up with the first increase being received in the 4th quarter of 2020. The second increase arrived in March and now a third wave has been announced to go into effect at the first of May. Miami Valley Paper Tube Co. has announced a 5% increase in all paper tubes and cores that goes into effect on all orders placed on or after April 19th. While we hope for the markets to settle there is little to guarantee that these will be the final increases of 2021.

The thaw is on here in Crittenden, KY with a gorgeous 54 degree day. Only our holly bushes (and one of our owners) is gonna miss this snow.
