At approximately 12:30 pm the Union County Law Enforement Center received a call that a plane had gone down somewhere in the area of 240th Street and Ivy Avenue. The Union County Sheriff's Office and Union County Emergency Management responded and found the plane had made a controlled landing in a field at that location. The pilot was uninjured and was outside the plane when deputies arrived. Also assisting on the scene was Greater Regional Hospital.

Union County is in a Tornado Watch until 9pm tonight. The primary threat includes... a couple tornadoes possible, scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5 inches in diameter possible, scattered wind gusts up to 70 mph.
