Single-Vehicle Crash on N. Main at Onion Street

On Friday, October 17, 2025, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the Creston Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash at Onion Street on State Route 3 within the Village of Creston.

A vehicle traveling southbound on North Main Street left the roadway, striking a utility pole, then a mailbox, and a second utility pole before coming to rest back in the roadway.

The driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

The investigation determined that the driver failed to maintain control of the vehicle, contributing to the crash. Alcohol was suspected to be a factor, and charges are pending for operating a vehicle while under the influence.

No other vehicles or persons were involved. The roadway was cleared and reopened to traffic at approximately 10:44 p.m.

The crash remains under review by the Creston Police Department.

The Creston Police Department send our deepest condolences to the Lorain Police Department and the family of this fallen hero! Senseless acts of a coward took the father of two children and husband away forever.
Our AMERICAN flag will be at half staff until our brother is laid to rest!
Let's also not forget there were two other officers that were shot! One is still fighting for his life!
