- Your boss needs you to wire transfer them money and it's "urgent,"
- Your employer is suddenly emailing you from a completely different email address,
- Your co-worker emailed you from a similar address: their address ends in "boss@123" but now they are emailing you from "boss@abc,"
- Your employer often has you write checks but now he/she is requesting funds through an unusual method,
- Your coworker of 10 years is referring to you as "Sir" or "Madame."
STOP.
These are all signs you may be getting scammed.
- Check email addresses,
- Don't click on random links,
- NEVER provide log-in information such as passwords,
- Check for spelling errors and inaccurate information,
- CALL the person who supposedly sent the email and confirm whether or not they sent it.
- Know it's a scam? Notify coworkers immediately as they too may be receiving the same email.
- Educate your employees on scams, scam tactics, and what to look for.
