City of Creola Welcome to the Official City of Creola page. Thanks again for your support and we look forward to hearing your voices.

If you have a problem, opinion, question or just an idea of something you would like to see happen in the community, please feel free to post it and let people know. This page is not run by the city council members but they do have access and are very interested in knowing what the citizens want. The hope is for this page to bring the citizens, current and former, as well as community partners clo

ser and get them talking more about the direction our great city should be headed in. This is a freedom of speech site, provided your posts remain truthful, respectful, non-threatening and not vulgar. We are a small community and we need to remember in the end, we should all be working toward a common goal and as adults we can agree to disagree and still be neighborly.

Dear Veterans and family,

On behalf of the City of Creola and our community, we are honored to invite you to a special Memorial Service Picnic dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the brave men and women who have served our nation.

This gathering will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with food being served at noon, and we would be privileged to have you join us. The event will take place at our Creola Veterans Memorial Park, where we will share food, fellowship, and a moment of remembrance for those who gave their lives in service to our country.

We are also pleased to share that representatives from the Disabled Veterans Leo Dubose Chapter 35 of Saraland, Alabama will be present. They will be available to assist veterans with potential claims, answer questions, and provide helpful guidance regarding available benefits and resources.

Your courage, sacrifice, and commitment have shaped the freedoms we enjoy today. This picnic is a small gesture of our deep gratitude, and we hope it provides a meaningful opportunity for connection, reflection, and appreciation.

Please consider this a heartfelt invitation to attend, and feel free to bring your family. Your presence would truly enrich the day.
With respect and gratitude,

Donald E. Nelson
Mayor
