The fire that occurred yesterday in Creighton was reported abroad and reached many. Sadly, in times like these there are people that try to take advantage of the situation by pretending to be victims and ask for assistance; scamming.

The public needs to stay aware and only donate to reputable organizations and people they know.

Currently there is a person making phone calls to people in the area using the name Shannon Marcus. This person is claiming to be a victim from yesterday’s fire and attempting to collect money and assistance. There are no victims from yesterday’s fire with this name. The phone number being used is 402-860-6735.

Main Street is now open for travel. Reminder to not cross the boundary of any barricade or yellow police tape. If you see a fireman or EMT thank them for their service.

There is a fire on the 800blk of Main Street. Stay away from the area if you are not a first responder. Multiple fire departments are transporting water so it is a very busy scene.
