Our Volunteer of the Month for September is Cathy Leonardo 💜

Cathy is one of our shelter's biggest champions and most dedicated volunteers. Around here, she's affectionately known as the "Meatball Lady" because she never misses a weekend without bringing her famous meatballs and chicken nuggies for the dogs. But Cathy’s impact goes far beyond treats. Through her endless fostering, support of adoptions, and the lifesaving work of her nonprofit, Willie's Wish, she has helped countless animals find brighter futures. Cathy is the kind of volunteer every shelter dreams of having and the kind of person every dog deserves. Thank you for everything you do, Cathy!

Dean is a handsome brindle boy with the soul of a couch potato and the comedic timing of a Saturday‑morning cartoon.

Most of the time he just wants to sit next to you, lean in, and simply be - relaxed, content, and happy to share your space. But every now and then? The zoomies hit. And suddenly this mellow king is doing his best impression of a racecar made of noodles. 🏎

He’s sweet, goofy, and makes Chewbacca noises when he wants your attention (yes, really). If you’re looking for a dog who’s equal parts chill companion and joyful weirdo, Dean is your guy! 🩵🐾

Banks spent 100 days waiting for his perfect match, and this week, he finally found them.

Rowan and Sweet Pea followed right behind, each stepping into their fresh start with full hearts and wagging tails.
