Request for Community Host for Liberty Walks Visit – Sept. 7, 2025
Jane Cottrell, representative with Liberty Walks, a new nonprofit dedicated to fostering civic-minded connection - step by step, community by community - across the United States has contacted our office asking us to make a request of our community.
Their central initiative is the Liberty Walk, a nonpartisan, nonsectarian cross-country journey that began on July 4 in Eugene, Oregon, and will conclude Thanksgiving weekend in Washington, D.C.

They are asking for local organizations to host their group overnight in Crawford on Sunday, September 7, 2025. The walkers will depart the following morning. In other towns, hosts have included churches, service groups, and community centers.
All they require is a safe, dry place to sleep. Access to bathrooms, showers, or a place to plug in their support RV. Most of all, they would welcome the chance to meet members of the Crawford Community and share a simple meal or conversation.
If your organization, or if you know of a group that might be interested in hosting the Liberty Walk, please contact Jane Cottrell by email at [email protected] or call or text at 917 55 4424.
