Please keep the family and friends of Tim Faust, known by most as “Weasel,” in your prayers. Tim passed away early this morning. Our county was a better place because of him and our hearts are extremely heavy.

Tim was a long-time member of Station 11: Arnoldsville Volunteer Fire Department and was also a dependable first responder, serving Oglethorpe County selflessly, expecting nothing in return. He was known for his positive attitude and contagious smile that could brighten even the worst of calls. We can’t thank him enough for his devotion and service to our county.

Rest easy brother, we’ll take it from here.

Once again we have decided to assist Nightlight Christian Adoptions and Foster Care programs providing Christmas for children in this region. Nightlight is a private agency that is able to provide foster care and adoptive services to families within a 60 mile radius of Athens, GA. They partner with state agencies and community organizations to connect resources that help provide foster children in care with the services needed for success.
We here at Oglethorpe County EMS would like to spend the holiday season giving back and Nightlight is an agency that hits close to home for us. Not only have two of our employees partnered with Nightlight to adopt a total of three children from foster care but we also want to be able to help provide gifts and necessities for children that are currently in the foster care system.
Let’s come together as a community to help “Fill the Ambulance”! There are multiple ways to help. Come out to Target on either of the two dates to bring new unwrapped donations or donate at Oglethorpe County EMS!
