The district offers families in grades 6-12 the opportunity to purchase laptop insurance for their student's device.

Insurance coverage provides peace of mind, ensures a quick and hassle free service, and helps students stay focused on their learning without interruption.

The 2026 Burger-Laverack TH Alumni Soccer Game & Chicken BBQ is Sunday, September 27th! ⚽🍗All proceeds will be donated to Dollars for Scholars toward scholarships in honor of Justin Burger and Fred Laverack IV.

The soccer game begins at 1PM, and the Chicken BBQ is at 4PM.

BBQ tickets ($15 each) and t-shirts ($15 each) are available.

Checks should be made out to Community Scholarship Fund or CSF.

25 years later, we remember. ❤️🤍💙

On September 11, 2001, our nation was forever changed. Today, we honor the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and all those whose lives were forever impacted.

As a new generation grows up without memories of that day, we carry the responsibility to remember, to teach, and to never forget.

Transportation Update for Our Community

Taconic Hills has become aware of information circulating on social media regarding electric (EV) school bus fires. It is important to us that we provide some accurate information to our community. There have been no fires involving any of our electric or diesel buses.

Student safety remains our top priority, and our transportation team is trained and prepared for all situations. All staff who hold a CDL license are required to be, and are, tested on the New York State Commercial Driver’s Manual, which includes emergency procedures. In the event of a fire or even a potential threat of fire, an immediate evacuation would occur; regardless of the type of bus.

Our EV buses are designed with multiple safety measures. The battery system is different from many others, encased in ballistic-grade steel and secured in the center of the bus chassis for added protection. We also continuously monitor and collect data on each of our EV buses to ensure safe operation.

In addition, all transportation staff participated in training on September 1 and 2, which included emergency response protocols. Our drivers are supported in making decisions in real time, in collaboration with our mechanics and Supervisor of Transportation. Students participate in assemblies that include bus safety and emergency drills are conducted on our buses during the school year. We also have, and will continue to, invite our students with their teachers for a field trip to the bus garage to learn about EV buses.

We take every precaution possible and will continue to work together to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

Attention Families:

This is an important notice that morning drop-off does not begin until 7:50 AM.

Students are not permitted to be dropped off or left unattended on District property before 7:50 AM. Staff supervision does not begin prior to this time, and leaving students unattended creates a significant safety concern.

We ask that families plan their mornings accordingly and arrive no earlier than 7:50 AM for student drop-off. This is a safety requirement and must be followed. Families who repeatedly drop students off prior to 7:50 AM may be contacted by District administration.

Please also follow the attached designated driving routes and the following procedures:
• District speed limit is 10 MPH.
• All student drop-offs must occur through the designated Elementary or Jr./Sr. High School drop-off loop. Do not pull into the parking lot or drop students off near the flagpole.
• If you have an appointment or need to walk a younger child into the building, please use the South Parking Lot near the softball fields on the Elementary side.
• Stay alert and avoid distractions. For the safety of everyone, please do not use cell phones or other electronic devices while navigating the drop-off lanes.

We appreciate your cooperation in following these procedures. These expectations are not optional and are necessary to maintain a safe arrival process for our students and staff.
