Oak Lawn Branch, Cranston Public Library

Oak Lawn Branch, Cranston Public Library Oak Lawn Branch is one of the six Cranston Public Libraries, nestled in quaint Oak Lawn Village. The Oak Lawn Branch was established in 1895.

Its location made use of a former schoolhouse and the surrounding community, including many members of the Shaw family, worked tirelessly to make the then-named Oak Lawn Public Library what it is today. The building underwent construction in 1965 to create space for a children’s library, then again in 1990 for the addition of a new entrance and reading room. Today, the Oak Lawn Branch invites the

public to delve into local history, offers extensive youth programming and provides the neighborhood with a family-friendly atmosphere.
