Wonderful morning at the Brookedale Centre of New England in Coventry, Rhode Island. I was invited to be a part of a birthday celebration for a 101 year old woman as well as a 107 year old veteran. The Lieutenant Governor of Rhode Island was there and presented each of them with birthday citations. And also, the head of the Rhode Island Red Cross, Susan Roberts, who presented our female honoree with a citation for all her hard work over the years with the American Red Cross. What a special event! Thanks, also, to WPRI-TV for covering the occasion as well!

I volunteered at almost 40 years old to go on active duty as a Navy chaplain. My first tour of duty was aboard the USS Normandy (GG-60) during the Bosnia/Herzegovina War. Time goes on. Hard to believe at my my first ship was decommissioned this past October. Today is the 4th of July. Despite the challenges our country is facing, we still live in the greatest country the world has ever seen! Happy 250th to everyone from my wife Maryann and me! She has been my support in everything I’ve done! We love and cherish our relationships with each and everyone of you!

Honored to have been asked to do the interment ceremony this morning for Staff Sergeant Mark T. McGrath by his brother Kurt at the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Johnston, Rhode Island. Mark served 18 years in the Army National Guard, rising to Honor Guard and Staff Sergeant. His commitment to service exemplified his sense of duty and leadership—a reflection of his unwavering dedication to both his country and his community.

It was a special afternoon at Spain 🇪🇸 Restaurant as I took my wife Maryann to an intimate dinner 🍽️ for her birthday🎂 . Yes, her birthday 🎂 was back on April 15th, and we had a great time celebrating it in Atlanta with our granddaughter Jordan as we prepared to help her move to Charleston, South Carolina. But today was that extra moment honoring my wife that she deserved and so much more! ❤️
