Congratulations to Elijah Castro, who finished his paramedic clinicals and passed his National Registry Paramedic exam. Elijah started with CFAS in May of 2024 while still in high school and quickly became an EMT. After graduating high school, he began the UCNJ Paramedic program where he was recognized as the Outstanding Paramedic student. Having just turned 20 last month, Elijah is one of the youngest NJ Paramedics, and an excellent one. He is a member of our Tuesday crew.

Congratulations to our August Cadet of the Month, Airyanna, from Monday Crew!

Although Airyanna is heading off to college, she has spent the last two years as a dedicated member of our squad. She consistently arrives for shift ready to learn, ask questions, and take on new challenges. Her performance on calls is exceptional, and she is always willing to support and lead her crew when needed.

Thank you, Airyanna, for your dedication, leadership, and service to our squad and community. We wish you the best of luck in college and are proud to have you as a member of our squad!

Congratulations to Jaden Medina, our August Member of the Month! Jaden serves as our Training Captain and continues to put in countless hours organizing and leading trainings to help our members earn CEUs and stay prepared. He also coordinates joint trainings with local agencies, including the fire department and lifeguards from Cranford Pool. Thank you, Jaden, for your dedication to keeping our members trained and prepared!

Yesterday, our squad participated in a joint training with the lifeguard staff from the Cranford Pool. We worked through several scenarios, including a spinal cord injury, near-drowning, and cardiac arrest. Trainings like these help strengthen communication, teamwork, and coordination between our EMS crews and pool staff. We hope to have more collaborative trainings like these in the future.

Our Day Room recently received a fresh coat of paint, with the project organized by our Building Lieutenant, Olivia, and completed with the help of our dedicated members. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help improve and maintain our squad building!
