Mole Lake Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Biindigen! Boozhoo! Aniin! "Zaaga'inganiin" Sokaogon Chippewa Community Located in Mole Lake, Crandon, Wi

Sokaogon means the "Post in the Lake people" because of a spiritual significance to a post - possibly the remains of a petrified tree - that stood in Post Lake near here. The Sokaogon Ojibwa are also known as the Lost Tribe because the legal title to the 12-mile square reservation from the Treaty of 1854 was lost in a shipwreck on Lake Superior. The band, under the leadership of Chief Willard Ackley, finally, after a long struggle, received federal recognition and reservation status in 1937. The Sokaogon (Mole Lake) Band enjoys three beautiful lakes either on or adjacent to the small reservation: Mole Lake, Rice Lake and Bishop Lake.

Welcome to Our New Clinic!

Our doors are open, and we are excited to be seeing everyone at the new clinic!

As our community gets familiar with the new building, please keep these directions in mind when coming in for your visit:

Park in the patient parking area on the right side of the building.

Use the clinic entrance facing the construction area.

The Flex Facility and Museum entrance is not open for patients, so please use the designated clinic entrance.

After entering the clinic, you’ll find the Pharmacy windows immediately to your right.

Thank you for your patience as everyone gets familiar with our new space. We are thrilled to welcome our community into the new clinic!

The Community Coalition of Forest County will again sponsor deer processing fees at Schaefers IGA in Crandon. Drop off a deer, and it will be processed into ground venison and then donated to Forest County food pantries.

Although the building will be closed, we want to make sure our community can still access needed medications. If you need medication from the pharmacy, please call ahead to schedule a pickup time. A staff member will arrange to meet you outside of the clinic.
