We’re excited to announce the launch of Valley Voices, a behavioral health blog and a space dedicated to sharing stories, resources, and conversations that support behavioral health and overall well-being.

Through personal experiences and community perspectives, we aim to reduce stigma, build resiliency, and connect our community.

September’s post explores the importance of social connections in our aging population. Meaningful relationships can reduce isolation, strengthen mental well-being, and help older adults thrive.

Would you like to be part of the conversation? If you have a story or perspective to share in a future blog post, please fill out our [form](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe-xcHQmw4QqX4kaAtRac566YWlekFSMaE1eDbimYucqP44fA/viewform).

This Labor Day, we are grateful for the people whose work, care, and service help Northwest Colorado thrive.

To our local workers, volunteers, nonprofit teams, educators, caregivers, and first responders: thank you for strengthening our communities and advancing the common good every day.

Join us in thanking someone who makes a difference in your life or community.
United Way of the Yampa Valley will be closed today in observance of Labor Day. We will return on Tuesday September 8.

Disasters don't wait for a single organization to be ready, which is why we're helping to build the Northwest Colorado Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD).

This network brings nonprofit, government, volunteer and faith-based organizations to the same table so our region can prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies together. Instead of every group scrambling separately, the COAD reduces duplicated effort and helps resources reach affected residents faster across all four phases of disaster: preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation.

A more coordinated Northwest Colorado is a stronger one. Learn more about this work at yvcf.org/nwco-coad/

Mark your calendar: Empty Bowl is coming to support the Moffat County Community Kitchen on October 2nd!

The idea is simple. Local artists and community members hand-make ceramic bowls, pair them with a shared meal, and turn that gathering into dollars for organizations fighting hunger. For us, that means Moffat County Community Kitchen, which serves more than 630 meals each week to neighbors in need and is still working toward a permanent home.

We're finalizing the date, location, and ticket details and will share them soon. In the meantime, follow along so you don't miss it: unitedwayoftheyampavalley.org

Remembering and Honoring Dolly Parton πŸ’›
Dolly Parton, a remarkable woman whose generosity, compassion, and unwavering belief in the power of community have touched countless lives.

Dolly has shown us that kindness can change a child’s future, that generosity can open doors, and that one person’s commitment to helping others can inspire millions.

At United Way of the Yampa Valley, we believe in that same simple, powerful idea: when we come together, we can make our communities stronger and create brighter futures for everyone.

Through our partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, powered by the generous support of local donors, United Way of the Yampa Valley has placed 48,602 books in the hands of local Routt County children since January 2020.

Each book is more than a story. It represents a moment shared between a child and a loved one, an opportunity to discover something new, and a foundation for a lifelong love of reading.

We are deeply grateful for and proud of this partnership and for the incredible impact it continues to make right here in our community.

Thank you, Dolly, for reminding us that giving isn’t just about what we give. It’s about the hope, opportunity, and possibility we help create for others.

With gratitude and admiration, we honor your legacy and the lasting difference you continue to make. πŸ’›
