The second place winner was Garland Frederick. Garland will get the rifle not chosen. The alternate winning ticket was John Oros. Department of Kentucky Area & District Commanders,

Adjutants should have received a letter sent directly to their home address announcing the Departments August 3rd Adjutant training. This annual event will be held at Campbellsville Post 82 located at 185 American Legion Way, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Prior to the class starting at 1pm (EDT) there will be a lunch served an hour before at 12pm (EDT), noon.

Please encourage all our Adjutants participation as training like this is an excellent way for building proficiency and comradeship with fellow members across the Department.

Post Adjutants in attendance will be paid mileage provided they complete the entire training session. Each Adjutant is asked to contact Peggy at the Department to get their name added to the planned attendee roster.

Please make sure our Adjutants received their announcement letter, they plan to attend and have contacted the Department as requested.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to meeting all our esteemed Adjutants!

Sincere regards

Joe Guerrero

ANNOUNCEMENT
DEPARTMENT TRAINING OPPORTUNITY

The Department will be presenting a New Post Commander class on September 23, 2023. This will be an all-day class specifically designed for new Post Commanders. New District Commanders may also attend if they have not previously attended a similar Department class.

This training will be held at Richmond Post 12, 550 S Keenland, Richmond, KY. This Post is centrally located within the State and should limit travel time for most attendees. This will be an all-day class starting at 8:30 am. Lunch will be served. There will be handouts for each participant.

Class participants must register with PDC Mike Moses so that he may coordinate logistical items such as meals and handouts. Please complete the following contact information form and email this to Mike. Time is short on this training opportunity; plus, previous Department training has filled up rather fast. The training is limited to the first 50 Commanders/potential Commanders who send in registration forms.

DO NOT DELAY, SEND IN YOUR REGISTRATIONS TODAY.

Graduates of the 2023 Department Legion College need not attend since much of this instruction was presented during the 3-day Legion College training. This also applies to previous attendees to the New Post Commander class that was held in August 2022. We are working on additional classes and will announce them as they are developed.

Please contact Mike at [email protected] or at (859) 630-5316 if you have any questions.
