The Coweta Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Dr. Maral Wood, Optometry Physician and Coweta Eye Care as one of our newest chamber members! Dr. Woods’ practice is located at 308 N. Broadway in the Downtown Coweta Broadway District.

The clinic was once home to Coweta Vision Clinic, owned and operated by Dr. Louis “Butch” King. At her ribbon cutting celebration, Dr. Wood called Dr. King a "rock star". They met at an optometry conference two years ago.

“We want to thank Dr. King for letting us take over his legacy in town. He has been here for 40 years,” she said. “It has been an honor to continue what he was doing here!”

At Coweta Eye Care, patients are provided with services that include glasses, contact lenses, and medical services such as red eye, diabetes eye care, macular degeneration and pre-op/post-op for cataract surgery. Dr. Wood can also give referrals for plastic surgery around the eyes, refractive surgery, PRK and LASIK.

Dr. Louis King has high praise for Dr. Wood who has come to Coweta to take over his practice.

“She can rattle off these things she can do, and she can do everything with the eye. It blows me away! She shows me what I do not know,” he said. “We are blessed here in Coweta to have Dr. Wood!”

Joining Dr. Wood at Coweta Eye Care as office manager and optical specialist is her husband, Nate Wood. Nate calls Coweta a “wonderful community” and thanked those at the ribbon cutting for their attendance.

What a great morning today at 2one6 Co-Working Space where a nice crowd joined us for coffee, conversation and community connections. We loved seeing so many familiar faces and meeting new friends along the way!

We appreciate our host Chrissy Charles with The Cupcakery Custom Bakery and The Savory Sister Catering Company for providing delicious coffee and breakfast treats.

Our Candidate Meet and Greet held yesterday at Indian Capital Technology Center in Coweta was quite a success! Of the 27 candidates running for office as Wagoner County Commissioners, State Representative District 12 and U.S. Representative District 1, 11 were able to join us or be represented for some one-on-one visits with potential voters. Attending were:

Wagoner County Commissioner District 3 - Donnie Yocham, Johnny Walker, David Greeno and Patrick Sampson.

Wagoner County Commissioner District 1 - Terry Oard and Josh Stenros.

State Representative District 12 - Mark Chapman and Sandy Hodges.

U.S. Representative District 1 - Courtney Gill, Mark Tedford, Kim David represented by Monica Medley and Jed Cochran represented by Josh Owen.

We appreciate the candidates for coming to Coweta and all of our guests who took advantage of the opportunity to meet them before the June 16 Primary Election.

Early voting for the Primary Election is today and tomorrow from 8 am - 6 pm and Saturday from 8 am - 2 pm. Those polling locations are at First Baptist Church in Wagoner and Northeastern State University Broken Arrow.
